We are all very excited by Hull being voted City of Culture 2017, and are collaborating fully with the organisers in order to make the fakes use of the opportunity to promote the aims of City of Sanctuary. There is no doubt that since the first arrival of refugees from the Balkans more than ten years ago,  asylum seekers and refugees have greatly enriched the culture in Hull. During Refugee Week (17th to 25th June) we will organise several events, and plan formally to announce Hull as a City of Sanctuary, having gained widespread support from the city and surrounding areas.
